Short History

The development of the mall was under a joint venture between Koh Brothers and Heeton Holdings and was completed in May 2000. It has an NTUC Fairprice supermarket, had an Eng Wah cinema just like other suburban malls during that time, a local post office, etc., and a total of 93 specialty shops. Just above the Sun Plaza are two 7-storey tower blocks that consists of 76 residential apartments that were completed in 2001.

In 2009, due to the low patronage of the cinema, it was closed. But the mall itself also suffered to low patronage due to competition. But in 2014, the mall was refurbished with a new exterior facade and a revamp in its interior layout and installation of alfresco dining spots as well as outdoor escalators, converted the cinema for educational use, the basement was expanded, relocation of the post office, etc. The mall was reopened again in 2015 with 103 specialty shops and a 5772 sq. ft. of net increased lettable area.
